Cloudy Water
There are numerous conditions that can cause cloudy pool water, such as: algae, dead algae, small particles not getting trapped in the filter, poor circulation, heavy bather loads, excessive organic contaminants, unbalanced water chemistry, and high calcium levels.
Natural Chemistry has products that can help with the general causes of cloudy water.
Once algae has been treated (contact your local pool store for recommendations on the best way to treat algae) vacuuming the pool of large particles is important. Once vacuuming is completed, we highly recommend using Pool First Aid to coagulate and remove the small particles that the filter cannot remove. Pool First Aid can also be used for other types of small particles that the filter cannot remove.

- Clear water of dead algae, pollen, oil/fuel leaks, spills, antifreeze residue, paint, vandalism and other forms or organic water contamination

For heavy bather loads and excessive organic contamination, we suggest using Pool Perfect.

If pool water has a high calcium hardness level, we suggest using SCALEfree to help keep the calcium from forming on surfaces as well as keep it from falling out of solution and clouding pool water. Also important with high calcium hardness levels is to treat phosphates as calcium and phosphates will bond with one another creating calcium phosphate. Calcium phosphates will also contribute to scaling and build up on salt generators and heat exchangers.
SCALEfree protects your pool from the damaging effects of scale build-up and staining due to excessive calcium, iron, copper and other minerals. It works without the use of phosphates or harsh acids.
If phosphates are 900ppb or below treat pool with PHOSfree:
PHOSfree is formulated from lanthanum (rare earth) compounds. When added to your skimmer, a thin coating of PHOSfree forms on the filter media. As pool water flows through the filter, phosphates are reduced to a very low level. All other phosphate products will cloud the pool water! Natural Chemistry's complete phosphate program results in clear perfect water, no waterline rings, no chemical odors and no phosphates.
If phosphates are over 1000ppb use PHOSfree Commercial Strength:
PHOSfree Commercial Strength quickly reduces extremely high phosphate levels. It is the strongest phosphate remover available.
Once phosphates are lowered to 100ppb or less, we highly recommend maintaining them with Pool Perfect+PHOSfree on a weekly basis.
For small particles that are unable to get trapped in the filter we recommend using either Clear & Perfect or Clear. Our clarifier products will coagulate the smaller particles so they are filtered out.
Clear & Perfect is a technologically advanced and highly concentrated pool water clarifier that is used to effectively and quickly clear problem water or to "polish" dull water by removing small suspended particles that filters cannot capture. Clear & Perfect is not pH sensitive, does not affect pool water pH, and does not contain dyes or artificial coloring.
Clear is a natural clarifier made from the shells of crabs and various sea life. Crabs and other crustaceans have a product in their shells called "chitosan" that attracts small particles of debris in water, which effectively and quickly clear problem water or to "polish" dull water by removing small suspended particles. This natural clarifier cannot be overdosed!
