Enzymes are naturally occuring proteins that 'catalyse' or speed up the natural breakdown of organic materials. Enzymes break down organic materials into smaller and smaller molecules until they are finally reduced to their elemental forms such as carbon dioxide and water. No other compound breaks down organic waste as efficiently as natural enzymes.
